Calgary Folks, Barbara Rumberger and Nicole Tremblay are coming to you!
Hand Made Here’s boutique Christmas group sale is back for the thirteenth year and features 25 of Calgary’s best, most unique artists and craftspeople working in diverse mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber and textiles, blown glass, fused glass, wood, jewelry, ceramics and more.
Why is this show so different from others? Tremblay explains, “We all make a special point of bringing the best of our art to Calgary for this one weekend.” This weekend sale in Calgary gives shoppers the opportunity to buy quality art and speak with the artists about their process.
“We know November is a busy time for art sales in Calgary,” Tremblay adds. “Our show is always very well attended and I think that’s because of the high caliber of artwork we offer. Everything is handmade. It’s like visiting 25 galleries in one day where you can talk to the creators in a super-relaxed setting.”
The 2017 Hand Made Here art sale runs Saturday, November 18 from 10am-5pm, and Sunday, November 19 from 11am-4pm at the Triwood Community Centre in NW Calgary. It’s easy to get to by car and transit, and there is plenty of free parking onsite. Admission is free. The artists provide a coffee and home-baked cookie corner so shoppers can take a break and recharge in comfort.
